Calibration Issue with Powertap - Edge 500

I got my Edge 500 about 2 months ago and it's worked flawlessly up until the last week or so. Now, my power reads high and I swear the hear rate is reading low. This is all based off of RPE and several years worth of power data to compare to.

When I try to manually calibrate the device (Bike Settings > Bike 1 > Ant+ Power), it does nothing as it sits at the screen with the auto-zero check-box (I've let it sit for several minutes at a time). When I first got the Edge, after a few seconds of being on that screen, a five digit number would come up and my readings would be perfect, not so much anymore.

Additionally, tonight I replaced the batteries in both the heart rate strap and Powertap hub, no difference.

Ideas? I would love to be able to test it with the original head unit, but that got damaged and doesn't work anymore (hence why I bought the 500).

Thanks in advance!!
James

Which version Edge 500 software? Latest has a power calibration method based on torque (suspend bike and hang a known weight from pedal at 3/9 o'clock position). If you can find someone else with a Powertap wheel, you could try pairing with the 2nd wheel and see if it zeros (indicating problem is your wheel) or pair your wheel with his head unit (if it works right, suggest problem is with your Edge). I'd try the garmin forums, too.
