Any Android app just to post a google map location? Not a full bike computer app.

I am going to be riding the Hotter N' Hell 100 on the 27th. I am running a Garmin 800 for myself but I am looking for an application to run on my phone that just updates my location every 5 minutes or so that way my wife will know where I am and can be at the finish line. It might also be fun to post my location so friends can watch.

I don't want an application that does it live since it will use a lot of battery power for that. Every 4-10 minutes is more than enough. I also don't need any other features since it will just stay in the back of my jersey in a ziplock the entire ride and I have my Garmin for logging everything.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Or, use Latitude to do a "check-in" periodically (i.e., rest stops).

If I could find a way to automate that it might work.

I don't want to take it out, I will probably only make one stop.

Thanks,

Chris

I will give that a shot tomorrow. Hopefully you can set it to not be active all the time (Only update every few minutes or so). I am affraid it will kill my battery. Have you tried it?
