Just sharing the good news: I just ordered some KD C8 flashlights from kaidomain. A week ago the price was $25, now it's $17. A kaidomain employee posted several days ago on budgetlightforum that this "promotion will only last 7 days".

My friend has been using the KD C8 for about 7 months on his 40 km commute, and he's had no problems with it. I hope the ones I ordered will be equally good!

Thanks for the info. I thought something was strange earlier when I was looking at their website for a link to use in my post. I saw the price and thought it was a misprint or the wrong flashlight.

Hard to go wrong for $17. The whole light cost more along in parts. I may just order an extra just for the heck of it.

+1 for an inexpensive bar light. I've had mine a couple of weeks and it's a great upgrade to my MTE SF-15 P7 torch. I just ordered a second one. I had to tighten the pill on mine and now the lens rattles. Nothing a new o-ring can't fix.

For those who bought the light at the link above, does it have knurling in the center section or is it smooth?? They have 2 different types of lights at the link above.. I have a P7 light in that form factor and like the size, it is just small enough to use as a helmet light if needed..

The KD C8's head is bigger than the MTE P7 I currently have. I believe it's around 44mm in diameter. You might not be able to mount it on your helmet for this reason.
The one my friend bought has knurling in the center section. Why do you think there are 2 different types at that link? Is it because of the images? Two of the images are blurry, and the knurling just isn't obvious.

I have several clones of this light. A bit heavy but it will work fine as a helmet light using a twofish. Great spot, especially if you have a bright floody bar light.

They have two link to this flashlight. One I found was listed at $26.02 but they took down the discription of the light since the time I posted that link in another thread. I'm not going to post that link here to avoid confusion.

The rubber band holder trick with this light does not work because of the large head as mentioned above. However as also mentioned, two fish is perfect. It was space the light reflector above the front curvature of the helmet. I did have to end ip using two holder to keep it more steady although one will work.

I bought mine several months ago and it looks identical to the link above. It has knurl on the tube with two machined flat on it.

Not only is the head a bit larger than the P7, but it's about 0.5 inches longer than the P7. I thought the P7 was too large for the helmet, but then I have a small head. The center section has two flat sizes. I don't remember if the rounded part is knurled or not.

Look a likes can still be had for around $22 at Manafont.com. Or if you go the ebay route, you can find the same light for your choice of prices, some with batteries/chargers included, just make sure you use a top rated seller.

To be honest, I have both this light and a Palight C8 R5 and I prefer the light of the Palight, which can be had for $18 at Manafont. It is an earlier emitter, but the light is more favorable: Cleaner hot spot for biking, as the XM-L T6 has a bit of a doughnut in the hot spot. Other than that, they are both good torches and I get over 2 hours run time with 3000 mah batteries on both of them

Do you know of any the 1x18650 lights that are regulated so well that when they "step down" you can "see" the light power change.

I own several different 1x18650 that can use 2x18650 as well as some Fenix lights. When ever they are in 'single cell' power config - they simply dim out slowly instead of "stepping down" like a truly regulated light.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Do you have a 1x18650 light that "steps down" instead of just dimming when battery power runs low?

I received the 5 lights (2 for me and 3 for friends) I'd ordered. They're all in good condition, no doughnut and no green tinting.
However, if you're like me and like to tighten everything down in any new flashlights, you'll have a rattling problem. Once I tightened the loose pill (where the LED is) to the head, the orange peel reflector started rattling. I've ordered some 42mm o-rings from manafont to fix this. Once I receive the o-rings, I'll report back here to confirm that the o-rings are the correct size.

In the meanwhile, I had to get rid of the rattle. I unscrewed the face cap, then I cut some very small pieces of inner tube. I put those pieces between the op reflector and the lens and reassembled the light. Got rid of the rattle.

Awesome bike light, and the rattle is easily fixed. So much light for $17!!! It's still a good deal even for $25. It blows the P7 away.

I have a "rattler". It changed modes while riding. I must have tightened the pill half a turn. They never tell you the diameter of the actual material. Grrrr. I was going to try the smooth reflector too.

I measured it with a digital caliper. It's a very useful thing to have!

I have cheap digital calipers too. I meant the REPLACEMENT o-rings at manafont. They could be too thick/thin.

They're great! During the day I switch both of them to SOS mode. I turn the first one on, wait about 3 seconds and then turn the 2nd one on. This way they seem to flash irregularly (attention-getting!), and when one of them pauses between SOS's (~3 seconds), the 2nd one is still flashing, and drivers can still see me.
If what I've just written isn't clear, I'll try to shoot a video to explain better.

sweet, look forward to the video, maybe you can show them in daytime flash mode?? Daytime "see me" lighting is my biggest concern where I am.

Which mounts are you guys using? The ones I have feel cheap and insecure (can't find the link at the moment...)

I use a washer between the head of the screw and the mount to prevent the screw from tearing the rubber. You can't change the angle with these mounts though.
