Motorola MOTOACTV

Does anyone here have any real world experience with a MOTOACTV? I need to replace a Garmin Edge 500 head unit and according to https://www.thisisant.com/modules/mod...elect&prod=195 it supports speed/cadence and power meters. The only major downside I see is the battery life but if it can work with an external battery that's not a deal breaker for me.

Motorola sent me one of these devices to do some consumer testing and blog about my experience with it. It is an ongoing process. For now here are some of my experiences with the device.

I use one and I love it. battery life has been drastically improved with an automatic firmware update.

After 3 weeks of use i returned mine and I really glad I didn't have to fight it anymore. the Oldairhead review is consistent with my impressions. I really wanted to like that device, but it didn't work out.

I will continue to use mine and see how things develope. Luckily for me I am not out anything since they sent me the device to test, so I can just use it until it dies. I also wanted to like the MotoActv but it's glitchy operation and the almost total lack of customer support from Motorola certainly have made it hard. Updates are being mad every few days to the review. I hope it is helpful to potential users. My hope is that at some point with software or hardware updates this thing may actually be wonderful!
