Bluetooth headset for GPS directions

Hi,

I need a GPS solution for navigation. I can't afford a dedicated bike GPS just yet. I've got an android phone which has good GPS software so I thought why not use audio directions?

Can anyone recommend me a Bluetooth headset that I can use whilst cycling to give me audio directions? Otherwise a pair of Bluetooth headphones would do if I could wear only one at a time.

Note: This would NOT be for music and I would disable call handling whilst cycling. Just the occasional voice direction telling me to turn left or right. I'm not suicidal ^_^

So has anyone got any experience doing this?

For listening to gps directions, I think any bt over-the-ear unit with sufficient volume will work. I use a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset with a blue-tooth-equipped amateur ("ham") radio; it works quite well once I added a foam mike cover to block wind noise.

I think you should consider wired headsets as well. GPS + Bluetooth drains my battery way too quickly. I use a Jabra Wave with Endomondo as an audio cycloputer (I don't like the numbers staring me in the face). It sucks getting wired up, but once I am on the road I don't notice the wire.
