Mirrycle Incredibell alternative?

I accidentally broke the spring on my bell (by manhandling the bike while practicing removing and reinstalling the wheels - obviously need to work on my technique). I think it's the original Mirrcycle Incredibell and nothing was wrong with it except it doesn't ring well in the rain, but since I'm buying a new one, I might as well consider other options. Does anyone have a recommendation?

(Even though I'm usually quicker to shout when needed, I feel...incomplete without it.)

I've been happy with my brass Crane 'suzu' bells. But this one from Portland Design Works may strike your fancy. It appears to be similar to the Crane 'Sakura' style.

An Airzound can scare the hell out of pedestrians compared to a bell.

Three quick rds from a G22 usually makes everyone move fast.

I recommend this electric siren. I got one in a Hong Kong night market but it can be bought just as cheaply online.
https://www.buyincoins.com/details/6-...duct-4432.html
I broke mine - it is on the way out - by clipping the wire too tightly. I worry about waterproofing (I've used vaseline on the seal). It is kind of rudimentary, and bulky, but I like it. It works to tell cars not to come out of side roads when I am going along country roads. More reviews here (but I'd recommend the rudimentary metal clip version above, rather than weak-looking velcro clip version below)
https://www.dealextreme.com/p/6-alarm...9v-100db-52764
I can confirm that the velcro version (purchased by mistake) while more modern, less likely to cause injury, more pleasing visually, slips around too much. Plasit wire clips may help. Aluminum clips still seem to be available at the link above top, or for two dollars more here although it is possible that the photos do not match the current velcro-on product.

I had one of these years ago - it's much louder/longer than that weak-ass Incredibell. I have one of those too - I never use it since all walkers seem to never hear it or ignore it.

I doubt bike bells are actually very useful anymore, especially in the USA where ~50% of the pedestrians are wearing ipod sensory deprivation devices. You really need something more like a disposable air horn or airzound.

I just replaced the Portland (not nearly as loud as the incredibell, which I have on another bike) with a much louder brass bell (https://www.ebay.com/itm/NYC-Tour-lar...#ht_500wt_1413) for the same price (albeit a bit larger).

I got one of brass bells sold by Velo-Orange and it is not nearly as loud as the Incredibell on another of my bikes. I recently removed the brass bell and plan to replace it with another Incredibell.

I found that the clanger on those tends to break rather easily. I went through two before I binned mine.

If you have oversized bars beware. Finding one to fit was very difficult, at least last year. Maybe the manufacturers have finally realized that there are larger handlebars on the market.

If you are willing to pay and wait, scroll down to the 80mm bell.

Myrrcycle makes versions of the Incredibell with adjustable straps that should fit a larger bar, stem, etc.. One of them is called Omnibell.

Water on the surface of any bell will dampen the sound. There's nothing wrong with the Incredibell.

I recently installed an Incredibell Bar End bell. I think I'm going to take it off. It rings whenever I ride over rough pavement, though that could be a feature, as I can keep both hands on the hoods and still alert pedestrians. I read that it's muffled relative to the regular Incredibell, but I haven't compared them yet.

I have one of these. It's good for getting through to people with headphones on as well as cars with their windows up.

The second of the two "megahorn"s listed on the page above is the one I use and reference above, except at approximately a quarter of the price.

It is louder than a bell, only needs a touch to the button, and can sound continuously. Bells are passe'.

It's like being a cat with a bell collar, isn't it? I used to use that bell, and found that it rang less if I oriented it a certain way. I'm guessing that the clapper inside would dangle and constantly ring unless the whole thing was turned to keep it from contacting the bell part.

I still think it's a neat idea, but I don't use it anymore because it won't fit securely enough in any of the bars I have.

Yes, it is. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out.

Turning it carefully took care of 80% of the ringing. I'll try to take it apart during the winter, since I don't need a bell on the trainer.

I love my Airzoundz, but use it for different things. My bell is for hello, and polite warnings, the Airzoundz is if I am actually in danger, or someone has done something particularly dangerous or rude. I can ride a little aggressively at times, but I don't think I've EVER used my Airzoundz on pedestrians. I did use it to successfully stop a dog in its tracks when it ran out at me while fully loaded on my most recent bike-camping trip.

I always use the Dimension "Temple Tone Bell" -
https://www.biking.com/buy-bike-acces...dblk-dome.html

I love the exact tone this one is, and the arrangement of the clapper means I can modulate what sounds I want it to make.

The Hornit horn (130 decibels) sounds, good if you can afford it about 60USD.
