Update bulb for old Niterider?

Update bulb for old Niterider?
I have an old Niterider that uses a 6 volt battery and although it is brite, it produces an amber/yellow light. I would like to replace the bulb with a new whiter one. Any suggestions?

Replace the battery with a 7.2 volt one. It's called over-volting and will give you more light (about double) at the cost of bulb life. The bulb's life will be cut down to about 10% of the original life but halogen bulbs are cheap and, when the bulb will last for up to 5000 hours at nominal voltage, 500 hours at in an overvolted state is still pretty long. I have done this for a long time using halogen and it works.

NiteRider has spare sealed bulb-reflector assemblies.. as spare parts
8,10, 15w, i recall.. power vs run time choice,
that extra volt will go very soon in the charge life of the battery recharge

The bulb size is 6v MR-11 G-4. It is used in projectors and spot lights. Google it and make sure when you buy that you get the right angle pattern. Single niteriders would be fine with a "wide" beam, typically 35 deg. If you feel creative, there are LED MR-ll bulbs but the lumens are a little lower though whiter and much increased run time.
