GoPro Naked closing out?
Saw a GoPro Naked at a local big box store on sale for $129 which surprised me. So now I have a question since I've got a couple of things posted for sale which should net me enough funds to get this:
How does the GoPro Naked compare to the GoPro Hero2 for web video uploads (youtube, vimeo, twitter, ...) ? Mostly I'll be using it for bicycling and motorcycling, and other outdoor sports. I might even attach it to our retriever to experiment a bit. Thanks for any opinions. |
they largely have the same basic functions. the one thing (for me) that the hero 2 has that I want that the hero naked does not have is the 120fps mode. that's not to useful for cycling so I think you will be just fine with the naked.
I don't have one (too expensive for me) but the $129 pricing is VERY TEMPTING. if its still $129 when I have that much cash I am going to get one. |
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the stuff I have for sale on the local craigslist isn't selling so no camera money. Also I checked at another of the stores that carry the Gopro Naked and that location's price was still $199, so I'm thinking someone goofed with the price at the first store. oh well.
Thanks for the reply and input. I'd be using the camera on a motorcycle as well. I will have to research what the 120fps would do for me. |
It's $129 on the official GoPro site: http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero-naked-camera/

Thanks for catching that.
I just noticed in the specs for the Naked and for the Hero2 that they list Windows Vista and 7 or later but don't mention XP. I'm thinking an OS upgrade or replacement of our home computers may be getting added to the shopping/ want list as well. oh well, back to the garage to see what else I can find to try and sell for camera and now computer upgrade funds. |
they probably have some stupid piece of software that you don't need that doesn't require an OS upgrade anyway. They had to mention Vista because it's incompatible with everything
|
you do NOT need any software for the gopro. I assume they are usb mass storage at best (auto supported in XP and up) or just pop the memory card and into a reader. compatible with anything then.
