speaker backpacks?

I was recently went on a bike party ride with some friends of mine. We seen lots of people carting around make shift music boxes. I seen some backpacks that had speakers attached to them and they were really loud and sounded good. Was wondering if anyone knows of a good brand or website with these types of backpacks.

No experience with anything like that, but a quick search of Amazon shows quite a few options. If you don't want to wear a pack, Trek/Bontrager has a rack trunk that has speakers, but like virtually all of their products is a bit overpriced.

I have long had ambitions to put together a stereo set-up, but am constantly too broke to get anything. I am just always wondering about power supply. I'm thinking using something like this (there are a number of them on amazon like this) should be fairly loud without breaking the bank, and some speakers lying about...I also have a car head unit around that could work.

maybe something like these for batteries

is this feasale?

iKross make a number of amplified soeakers with their own rechargable batteries in a self contained package. One of the other mechs at the shop brought in these models and they were surprising hooked up to an iPod. I'm thinking you could add those to any backpack - just hang 'em off the outside.

If you're inclined to tinker, you could try this amp module from Dealextreme. It's about the same price as the one you linked to, but a bit more minimal and in a smaller package. I bought on a few months ago for a still-unfinished project, and it sounds good and is pretty loud when connected to my 12v power supply, but the sound level is dependent on having a good speaker enclosure.

Found this at Iminusd here in the Southbay. Its pretty loud for its size. Its bluetooth, water resistant, and drop tested. I seen a video where they dropped it down an escalator, and it didn't have a scratch on it. Has a recharegable Lithium-ion 900mAh battery,1hr charge time, last up to 4hrs @ full volume.

Cool, I might actually get this. While it won't be the loudest thing, it is about as powerful as I would want to go to maintain good battery life without getting a motorcycle battery or more. This is a setup I want to do for social ride, not so much for when I am commuting or something. Mind you, I have seen someone with a motorcycle battery and a 400 watt amp (not a cheap one either). Sad thing was that his speakers couldn't come close to handling the output the amp was capable of.I have also seen a hand built trailer setup that held the rig, that is probably the best way to go for larger setup's to avoid stability problems.

I'd be interested to see what you come up with for the speakers. I've got plenty of options for drivers, but finding a balance between light weight and decent sound quality is the real trick. Durability and weather resistance need to be considered also...

battery powered I-pod /smart-phone dock , & amplifier
to run 2 computer desk top speakers , should be
a simple combination to put together..

im surprised at the sound coming out of 2 tiny speakers..

they have a phone dock with music downloads to play
when no $ is fed into the jukebox at my local tavern..

making it all work in something soft. you will need some creativity.
can you run a sewing machine?
