Cygolite Hotshot

Just picked up one of these today and the instructions on the back of the box aren't really helping me.

I see how to change the flash speed, but how do I go about adjusting the brightness? It says the brightness is adjustable, but I can't find out how to change it for the life of me.

If anyone could write up some instructions for the thing (or post a link), it'd be much appreciated.

BF user mechBgon has that iight. He has a couple of youtube vids up covering it. Here's one that may be of help (audio isn't working for me): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMklyAzTNA4

I'll see if I can find one of his threads from he first got it- he's one of the early adopters here.

Bingo! Here's the thread that features that video I linked to, as well as instructions on how to adjust modes- all in the OP.

I just bought one from Tree Fort Bikes, 29.99. I was buying a bunch of hard to find freewheels and threw it in to save on shipping.

grr this thing is frustrating. Light itself works great, the mount is ridiculous though. Keeps falling from optimal position (and the light is very directional) 1 or 2 clicks down and no matter how many times I move it back up, as soon as I hit a bump, it goes back down

I had the same problem.

Changed the mount to one from a PBSF.

Works fine now.

It works w/ PBSF, great. Almost order another mount but Tree Fort didn't have any. I've got lots of PB mounts. It's rare when one bike light fits anothers holder. Thanks for the info 10 W

The Hotshot's brightness is not adjustable, only the flash speed:

Unless I'm not reading the info correctly found following the link in post #3 of this thread, it appears that you can adjust the intensity.

NO you adjust the brightness the same way you do the flash speed, you just need to put the Hotshot in steady mode first. If the level of brightness goes down release the button then hold down again and the brightness level will go up.
