Not sure there is much of an advantage, the black band for "side lighting" looks less than wonderful on a silver light. Dunno if puts out any more light out the front. I can get one that matches my pink bike though

It appears that they have dropped the "symmetrical" lens this year, opting only for the "Terraflux" (similar to the "iris" of last year, no?)

I've moved to a more rural area and am tempted to try the new "Triple", with a home-fabricated shroud to avoid blinding people.

the symmetric puts more light where you need it unless you like to light up trees -- off road for example. For on road, I think that symmetric beams are not as good

Supernova did give up on the symmetric single led lights sometime last year
