Glad I used the lanyard.
I was riding to work this morning when the Ultrafire 501b that had been on the handlebars worked it's way loose. It was light enough out so I didn't need the light to see, and wouldn't have noticed it fell off until much later. But I did notice the sound of the light hitting the frame, and stopped as soon as I'd figured out the problem.
