Anyone have a Luxos U?

I've been meaning to upgrade my generator light to something that actually provides enough light to ride by. And I've been considering various methods of using my hub to charge electronics. Now that there's a light that sounds like it does both, I'm very tempted. But I'd love to hear from some people actually using it to see how it does.

I don't have one (yet) but the feedback to my blog post on it has not been that positive ... particularly if you use the USB. There is a good discussion at the UK forum YACF. Worth a read I would suggest.

Wow, that's a pretty nice link.

I've read a couple of times though that Busch and Mueller redesigned the light to avoid the rain/wet issue, fyi. Apparently it definitely was an issue, but they stopped production and fixed it - that's why it's been so difficult to get the "U" version from Peter White, while he has plenty of the "B" version.

The beamshots from Peter White are amazing. What's keeping me from buying is it's size - it's at least twice as large physically as the Cyo...

I've had mine for a month or so but just now started using it. The light pattern is pretty good, but not quite as bright as on Peter Whites site. It doesn't get completely washed out by street lights. It's not as bright as my Cygolite TridenX 600 but it's close. It's a much wider beam that lights up the shoulder very well instead of a single bright spot. Overall I like it a lot.

I have not used the usb to charge anything as of yet but hope to this week. The red light is showing even while using the light which means that usb charging is available. Not sure at what speed that it becomes available. I am using a SP dyno hub.

I have not had the chance to use it in the rain so I have no idea about any problems there. Hopefully mine is an updated one. I ordered it from a shop in Germany.
