RidewithGPS: Removing waypoints?
Hello
I asked their tech support but still can't figure out how to do this, or even if RwGPS can do it.
I drew a big route from which I'd like to remove a segment in the middle that has multiple waypoints.
Support told me to simply add some control points at the beginning and end of the segments I want to remove, but nothing happens.
Can someone confirm that it's possible, and how to do this?
Thank you.

remove the waypoints from the segment and then drag and drop the segment back on the remaining route. If that results in making more waypoints, remove those. It's a little like moving bread dough around

Anyway how do I delete a waypoint? I moved some of them on top of other points, but RwGPS doesn't merge them.

For me, it always turns out to be faster to just "undo" all the route back to the part I want to edit, then redraw from there.
When I do anything more complicated than just shifting a small section to a nearby road, I end up with a bunch of small loops or other problems, and I have to zoom way in and carefully drag dozens of waypoints back into line.

when they re-did the site, they hid "remove control points" in plain sight. Drove me nuts until I found it. It's over in the right panel under "follow roads." Select that and click on the waypoint you want to get rid of. I usually go through and delete waypoints after I've made a route, makes it easier to edit. They keep fixing bridges around here, you have to change your routes a lot to incorporate the detours. Plus, when I'm doing a route I change my mind a lot, I wouldn't want to start from the beginning for every variation. I haven't had to do that recently, but during the early days of the site it was less frustrating sometimes.

At this point, it's not possible to remove a whole segment in one go, by selecting a start-and endpoint and simply tell RwGPS to remove all the waypoints in-between.
As far as I understood, the user is required to turn the start- and endpoints as Control points, and click on all the waypoints in-between to have them removed. Very annoying where there are more than a few.
