Busch & Muller Secula Plus for Seat Post or Stay (331/2ASK)
 

I am looking at a couple of Busch & Muller Secula Plus for Seat Post or Stay (331/2ASK) and hoping there might be some experience with same here and/or the Philips Saferide..

I am particularly interested in how they compare with the Philips Saferide SRRDLGBLX1 and if I could get away with running two of either rear light in-combination with a Busch & Muller Lumotec IQ2 Luxos U front light. All of which will be powered by, a SP PD-8 dynamo.

So, did you get the Secula? I use PD-8/Luxos U/B&M Toplight Line Break and PV-8/Luxos U/Spanninga Pixeo Xs combos.
I'm wondering if the Secula is worth upgrading the Pixeo.

I have got two of them but as yet not in operation. My first attempt at learning wheel building skills didn't quite go to plan and I am in the process now of my second attempt. That in combination of being off the bike for some weeks including time out of the shed has delayed progress.

That said some local riders at the Australian Cycling Forums got the lights around the same time as I did and have shared their thoughts here. Might be helpful.

since new years, Seems Phillips is dropping the saferide production ..
so you have to find limited existing inventory..

Got a secula plus last week, mounted it on seatstay and used it on a 400k on Saturday (5am to 5am). Very bright even when stopped.
I need to put some black tape on the top because it was a little dazzling when looking down at the cassette.
Very pleased with it.

This is an old thread. I wouldn't be surprised if @Aushiker no longer reads BF. But if you do, did you ever try this experiment? According to specs, you would not be able to connect two tail lights to your system. But that's theory. In practice, it might work.

I use a dynamo powered tail light and a battery powered tail light simultaneously. That way, if either system fails, I am still likely to have one working light. The battery powered light flashes, and that might be good for getting attention. I figure having two lights that behave differently when they are both on is a good thing.

Yes I did try and yes it does work, at least with the Secula lights. They in fact still on the bike during duty.
