New type of safety gear

I like the tag line, not for use on Pedestrians.

I know someone who improvised one of these, with a carbide drill bit and a fiberglass rod.

It's not new, it's a flash flag. They've been available for 10 years. Minus the idiotic scratchy bit, but with an actually useful reflective flag.

Maybe the scratchy thing is useful for people riding in areas with 25 MPH speed limits, but by the time anyone realizes that it is scratchy when passing me, they're already past.

You guys know that site is nothing but a joke, right?

Mark Renshaw will be using an OPQS-badged, double-wide carbon version this year to lead out the Manx Missile.

What tipped you off?

"...The motorist will know immediately they are too close, and give you a friendly wave. Whew! Accident avoided...."

Sure, but I've actually thought about implementing this myself.

In my version, I'd have two different color sharpies at the end of a pole. Get too close and your car gets marked (and we'll make sure that at least one of the two colors will show up...).

In my version, i'd have big roller stencil, with bike icons at the end of a pole. Get too close and your car gets marked making it look like you took out bikers
