How useful is Ridewithgps live logging?
I'm considering upgrading my ridewithgps account to a paid membership so I can use live logging to let my family know where I am.
I'd like to know if it is accurate and useful. Has anyone used it? What do you think of it?

I just downloaded Glympse for my Galaxy Note 2, and it seems to work really well.
It updates in real time. And it is easy to send a link to my wife so she can monitor me on her iphone.
Ridewithgps has lots of cycling related features that I like, and if live logging works as well as Glympse,
I would still use it. Hopefully someone here will comment on this.

My family uses life360. if the other people are in your "circle" they can see where you are, locations update every 15 min. or so or they can do a forced location update on you if they prefer. It makes my wife feel better when I'm off all day riding. It's free.
I keep meaning to try glympse but I think you have to send a specific link every time you want somebody to track you? I'd forget.

I haven't used the live logging yet but I've used the Ridewithgps app to check a couple of routes I was planning to ride and it seems to work well.

Glympse works well for me. My wife uses it on her iphone and I use it on an Amdroid phone. You "send" a Glympse at the start of a ride and the recipients get an email that sends them to a link where they can see your ride location and progress. Updates are every 15 seconds or so.

Dude the OP has some kind of strange magical powers, I was just about to ask this, I am useing RWGPS as my club publish the group ride routes in a newsletter with links to them for Garmen and ride with gps so I got it so I can follow the rides as we do them, so if I get lost (Very Unlikly but dose happen) then I can still follow the route and its just handy to know the route, we get all our planned rides published with link in a week in advance very handy!!!
I will be testing this soon hopeing it works like google maps navigation but on these linked preplanned routes.
You need basic or premium ot use this feature though but its cheaper than buying a garmern!! And with three hours battery life on my phone with GPS and streaming internet at the same time I wont complain! Jus tmount it to the bike bars and Im set!!
Regards live loggin, again as I have the basic account I am trying to work out how live logging works so if you find out let me know please as I would love to be able to keep faimily and freinds updates with progress and to make sure Im still alive and not under a semi trailer rig ect....
Il play around with it and once I know Ill post but haveing GPS issue with phone right now, but getting that sorted...needs a patch I think.
ITS ONLY 6 BUCKS A MOUNT and 30 day money back if oyu dont like it so id say just get it and try it tbh!
