Getting the most from a Garmin Edge 605
Apparently, my mama did raise a fool...at least when it comes to understanding a Garmin Edge 605. I've had one for years and never felt like I was getting the most from it...particularly as a mapping product. In fact, I can't even say for sure whether I purchased upgraded maps for this or not....I have several DVD's (both of which are labeled City Navigator NT-North America 2010) but can't say for sure that these are for the Edge 605 (I also have an Edge 305 and a Garmin Zumo, a motorcycle GPS).
One fundamental question is this...does the unit come with a rudimentary set of maps? Should I upgrade these to a more robust set of maps? Mine seems to have some maps...but I'd sure hate to try to navigate using these, as they seem very crude and "detail-free". Maybe I have the upgraded maps and just never installed them? How would I know this??
I've mainly used the 605 as a cycling computer (speed, distance, grade, time of day, etc)...but am interested in getting the most out of it that I can.
Anyone have any useful tips on how to master the Edge 605?
