I have an Iphone and my wife has a galaxy. I'm looking for phone mounts on the handle bars. What does everyone use?? the more info the better.

Hopefully everyone tells me the Iphone mount is better and I can convince my wife to switch to an iPhone....lol

I keep my phone in my pocket. So does everyone else that I know. Never seen a handlebar mount for a phone that works well.

On my first bike, Trek 7.2 FX, I used a Topeak RideCase. The nice thing is they offer cases separately for both iPhone and Android phones, so two people could share one bike and mount. The mount worked perfectly, head the phone securely and really easy to view/use while riding. It mounts in the stem and is adjustable.

On my new Specialized Sirrus I installed a Garmin Edge 510 in a K-Edge out front mount and keep my iPhone in my pocket now.

I just got this Scosche mount from Target. It is easy to mount and adjust. The phone slips in easily and there is a foam insert to absorb bumps. It is easy to use through the plastic. BUT, do not leave your display on in the case. I tried it out on a short, 5 min rode. The phone got VERY hot. The phone is fine if you leave it in and only access it occasionally. It should not be used for following a map. I just use to to hold my phone and I can see notifications pop up on my screen and I can glance at them and decide if I need to stop and then access the phone.

I have this in my car and on the bike and my wife, sister, daughters, neice and a bunch of friends have them. Work great and are cheap.

I have a bikase handy andy (or something like that), which is a padded case with a plastic screen cover. With this type of case, I think the padded black bag helps to generate heat, and the plastic screen cover as well tends to cause the phone to overheat if the display is on (plus the plastic screen also has a ton of glare, making it hard to see the phone screen). I've been turning my screen off and having cyclemeter announce stuff more frequently for me (cadence, etc). So I would definitely spend a bit more on a case that a) allows for better visibility and b) doesn't serve as a heat trap

The quad lock cases and the one I linked to above seem to meet that criteria for me.

That one you linked to looks like a quadlock clone... the quadlock attachment to the bike is very clean.. you can ziptie it or use the rubber band things.. I've been using the rubber bands and have no doubt that it's secure (I've got the phone attached to the stem)..

the good thing about either of those designs is that the phone can stay in it's "bike" case all the time.. I keep mine in that quadlock case all the time.. and it's really easy to take the phone off the bike and use the camera or answer the phone or do whatever...

I also use the wahoo rflkt+ but before I got that I wasn't that worried about heat.. (at least while the phone isn't in the poncho) you'll get more heat from sun if it's sunny outside anyway

... even though you didn't ask, the rflkt+ is GREAT.. I lose maybe 5% of battery life an hour.. and I haven't had any connectivity issues with it... (I just use the cyclometer app and road ID when I'm riding and make sure nothing else that would use sensors and stuff can run in the background)

I would love the case also, But I get a new phone every year with work, so I don't want to have to buy a new "Special" case everytime.

Or if that's the best, I may just buy a new case every year.

I use it handle bar mount and he uses it stem mount.

I use this kickstarter one called the Handleband. It is now being sold on amazon. It works really well, no need for zip ties (but zips can be used), so I use on both my bikes. I have used it with my iphone case on and off and it worked the just the same. Can be mounted on both the handle bar and stem. It can also be used to strap in a flashlight without the phone though. It holds tight but can be moved with some force, but I have not noticed anything well riding. Here is the amazon link, and it only is $15.

plus with the same case that uses the same accessories, you get oe car mount and use both phones with it depending on who's driving, etc.

It really works well, holds onto the phone and bars nice a tight. It doesn't use a case, I wrap my phone in kitchen cling wrap for long, sweaty rides.
