Gear Pro vs Other Cameras like Go Pro
Ok all I have a Gear Pro camera that was a good price compared to a Go Pro.
I like to get a camera at least better one that would give better quality video.
I think the Gear Pro is a get what you pay for, $75 for camera, memory card and a few mounts
Here is a link to one video i did
https://youtu.be/2IagYu4PLX8
https://youtu.be/2IagYu4PLX8
Tell me what u think of the quality
However one of the camera mounts that i use for the handle bar just broke, it was all plastic, the mounts for the other brand of cameras, like Garmin or Go pro , are they stronger?
Also anyone recommend a good budget price camera that would give better quality video?
compared to this https://youtu.be/2IagYu4PLX8
I like to get a second camera, etc, and one with a better mount
thanks

I don't know anything about the Gear Pro. I just picked up a SJCAM M10. The reviews are good on it. I haven't had mine out yet, it just showed up on the 24th.
< $100 with a spare battery and charger and a bunch of mounts. It's fully compatible with GoPro mounts.

I have last year's winner, the SJ1000, and it is good enough for 99% of what you want. It too cost under $100, 80 I think is what I paid. The novelty of the camera wears off pretty quickly, and in general nobody really wants to see your video.
My wife just yesterday asked me to put away "that camera", since it's been sitting in the same place for almost a year now. Also with the camera was my Garmin watch/HRM, also untouched in a year.
And the reason I'm on the Gadgets forum right now is so I can ask about an iPhone 6 mount, which can replace both the watch and the camera, but writing this makes me realize I won't use that either, except to call home occasionally.
(and this was post 4800 for me, closing in on 5000!)

The M10 is a variant of the SJ4000, which is an improvement on the SJ3000, SJ2000 and SJ1000.
FWIW, I have used a camera every day for 3 years now. Of course nobody wants to see your video, that's not what it's for. Even I never look at the video. It's a dash cam, it's there if you need it after an accident.
I happen to enjoy posting videos of morons in cars doing stupid things, so I do actually use video from it 4 or 5 times a year.

Interesting as I was reading on some SJ cam history. Why the heck is the SJ4000 more expensive than the SJ6000 if the 6000's newer? (confuzzled)
The M10 looks like it's just a cube instead of GoPro shape? (shrug)
I have a Hero3+ Black and while I do like it, I do worry about it. A cheap alternative could work where I might risk the camera's welfare.

Yeah, it's less ugly than the GoPro. It's basically a resized SJ4000, which is very close to GoPro shape. But mainly I like it because it's cheaper, not having WiFi. I've owned three cameras with WiFi and I've never found any use for it so I'd rather not pay for it.
Well, I don't think there are many (if any) cams that can beat a Black, but the newer SJCAMs are pretty good.

And, yes, I agree the video quality (even pic quality) is great! I just wouldn't mind throwing something else on the front of my bike if I knew there was potential for danger. In fact, I recently went on a hiking trip which the camera captured beautifully, but I did take a spill on my rear on a steep descent that could've been devastating to me, had I trashed the Black!

Also look at the "Drift" line of cameras. Like the "Drift HD". In between a Go Pro and a Gear Pro in terms of pricing, but near Go Pro quality. It also has a nice torpedo shape which makes a lot more sense on helmets and other mounting locations than a big ugly Go Pro. I use it on my motorcycle helmet a lot. And I love it! Had it for 2 years now, it works absolutely great!
