Oslo to ??
Thinking of taking a few days to go see Oslo and surroundings before I head back to the US. The ferry to Oslo is fairly cheap, but the return trip costs a fortune because it's overnight and you have to book a room.
No problem, I'll ride to Göteborg or Kristianstad and take the ferry back from there.
So, after I spend a day in Oslo, I can head down the west coast of Sweden and see the bronze age art at Tanumshede and the old villages on the west coast of Sweden. Alternatively, I can head down the coast of Norway and see the towns along the way.
Any thoughts or recommendations of things to see? I particularly like history and pre-history (Vikings, bronze age, etc.). I also like just sitting at cafés and poseuring. Art doesn't thrill me so much (seeing The Scream would be enough), but architecture does.
I don't think I really have the time to make it to Stavanger or Bergen, though you're welcome to tout those as well.

Gothenburg is a fairly large city with loads of maritime sightseeing to name something. From there you could go out (by ferry) to the outer archipelago and visit old fishermen villages. Spend time in Gburg - its worth it.
