Cross Cable Again

A wee bit ago this was a new exercise. I was really sore after my first time with it.

Today, in the normal exercise rotation, I did it again. 30# weights on each side, 4 sets of 12 reps, alternating fore feet for each set.

Went pretty well. We'll see tomorrow how my body reacts.

Cross cable is right up there with squats according to the "experts". So I hope my body likes it.

I'm not following. Is this something done with elastic bands, on a machine, using free weights, on the bike, what? First I've ever heard of this...

Sounds like standard cable crossovers, but then there's that mention of 'fore feet'. (Don't forget to exercise the hind feet as well so you don't become imbalanced).

Waaiiit a minute - is this the one where you place your ankle in a padded stirrup and work against resistance? I see that in the gym, although I haven't tried it. It appears to work different muscles from the squat (abductors and adductors, etc.) but looks like an excellent exercise.

Yep, standard Cable Cross/Cross Cable. We have machines labeled both ways.

Proper form apparently is to have feet at shoulder width with one ahead of the other. Then pull the cables with each arm, crossing mid-torso.

On machines I've seen the pulleys on each tower are adjustable. The pulleys are adjusted to approximately shoulder height.

Actually a pretty standard machinne in most gyms. I'm a late comer to recognizing it's value.

At this point I recommend finding a gym and trying the exercise. Who knows? You might like it.

Cable Coss is a new favorite along with Squats, Standing Curls to Military Press and Supine Overhead Pullovers.

Not sore at all today. Just some muscle fatigue.

Good Stuff.
