Joining the 60+ club
Tomorrow i'll be 60. Never thought i'd make it and i'm in better shape than I was when I joined the 50+ club. I attribute most of it to cycling and realizing that I only have one body so I need to make it last.
Thanks to everyone here for the support and encouragement. We all need to help the newcomers moving toward better health.

Congratulations, happy birthday and not to forget that aging is not for sissies, but with a healthy well toned body it will be easier.

Happy 60th! I have mine in two weeks. Not looking forward to it but reading the posts here now maybe not such a big deal. Every year I go for a ride to ride my age. I hope some day to be able to ride 80 miles on my birthday!

One good thing however; all those days of snow shoveling strengthened my arms, which permitted me to fairly easily use my little pump to inflate my rear tire to 76 PSI, which was easily enough for the short distance home. I always pump them up to their max pressure (120 PSI) using my floor pump prior to heading out on my ride. The debris that punctured my rear tire just missed the protective center strip of my tire. I really can’t complain though because these 700 x 28 tires have nearly 2,000 miles on them and this was the first flat.
Even so, I really missed going the full distance of my ride especially since it was 50°F this afternoon, which is an excellent temperature for me.
