I would like it we could move the clocks forward another hour in the winter. So summer would be Plus one hour and winter plus 2 hours from standard time.

Wow, that would be awesome. In winter here in PA, it's dark by 4:30. In the summer, I'm getting my final RC plane flight in just before the sun disappears at almost 9 pm. Just about a 4.5 hour difference.

We also don't have much of a dusk. The sun is in the sky and it's light, and 5 minutes later, it drops below the mountain horizon and it's dark.

I feel your pain. But I'm still glad for the change. Like you said, it's the first few days that can be rough. After that it's all OK.

I think China has the right idea. A single time zone for the entire country. After all, the government knows what's best for us.

Not only them.
ADD businesses. I HATE it when businesses keep making these webdesign changes. When nothing be wrong with the website at all. Leave the webdesign/website alone. It was great the way it was --- before it got altered. Besides, these changes are charged to the customers.
I speak of companies like Ebay, on top of the list --- who makes changes more frequent than any other. These cycling businesses put a LOT of $ into their webdesigns.

They should just make daylight savings time the new norm and stick with it. Changing times is so agrarian.

I dont mind the extra hour at the fall setback. It's deer season here and getting an earlier sunset is nice.

It took me a minute or two to parse this, and I think I get it.

You are NOT a deer hunter, is that right?

I used to dislike losing the hour of daylight in the winter evenings because it prevented me from riding after work...

but now that I'm no longer doing the office thing, it doesn't matter.

In a way one small group seems to have dialed (no pun) this time thing in pretty smartly.

The state of Quintane Roo, which is the easternmost state in Mexico, and includes the tourist destinations of Cancun & Cozumel Used to be on central time, and go to central daylight with the rest of eastern and southern Mexico.

However, two years ago, they created their own time zone, matching Eastern Standard time year round and no daylight time change. This puts them in sync with the cruise boats during the tourist season, and lets the rest of Mexico catch up when they switch to daylight time come Spring. (FYI, in case you missed my point --- Central daylight and Eastern standard are the same time).

Today when I turned the clock back one hour, I set my alarm back one hour as well. So I'll be getting up at the same time on Monday as I did on Friday.

Actually, yes I am an avid deer hunter. I hunt during evenings and enjoy getting home an hour earlier....unless I tag a nice buck.

So I didn't get it, but that's because I thought deer hunting was a daylight activity, and figured non hunters can't wait for the day to end.

Anyway, good hunting, don't shoot any mtn bikers.
