Day 2 XC
Springfield to Sisters! 91 miles with 4700' of climbing. 4000' of that was the 20 mile climb up to McKenzie Pass on Hwy 242. Huge lava field up top. Great climb, I felt like I had my own road.
The first 50 miles today was along the McKenzie River. Must have been slightly uphill or headwinds as I didn't get a break from pedaling until the descent at 75 miles.
Lots of tree canopy today. Incredible day and route.
Woke up to a flat front tire. I sure hope I don't average 1 flat per day!!
Met a fella who had been on his bike since May touring the trans am from Norfolk.
Great Mexican supper with several margaritas rounded out the day.
Now a shortish day of 64 miles from Sisters to Brothers through Bend!

You're making good time! Don't spend your ride 'riding', spend it 'enjoying'!! Stop every so often to smell the roses. Look/take pics of the scenery that is all around you and NOT just in front of you! THAT is the best part of touring!!!
