I dont waste money on high priced "cycling jerseys". I wear just plain old wicking t-shirts. I can buy 4 or 5 of them for the price of a cycling jersey. I get many of them with the entrance fee to bike clup rides.

Yeah I just liked this one and It helps me support my local bike shop. I also hope I am more visible In this Jersey.

I waste money on $2,000 bikes when a $1,000 bike would do just fine so a $45 Jersey that perform's as well as this one does was to me worth every penny. I have several 'wicking' T-shirts, not even close In the Florida heat.

This Is my first jersey, and the 'Club Fit' Is comfy, After just one ride I now know the difference, I will be buying another Incase I forget to wash this one.

I don't have a pic of my "favorite" but here's the website pic. Now I need to drop the weight I've put on in the past 3 weeks since (another) surgery and 3 more weeks before I can ride again.

Congratulations on insulting the OP, and the rest of the cycling world, in the first reply.

I'm going to buy a Rapha jersey just to celebrate your post.

My vintage Merckx jersey with my 1988ish Merckx Corsa Extra

This Banesto jersey like the ones worn by Miguel Indurain. Miguel Indurain's five-year reign over the Tour de France comprised the bulk of what would be Pinarello's golden age. Adding on the victories of Riis and Ullrich, Pinarellos would dominate the race for seven years straight. 1994 would be the last year the Tour de France was won on a steel bike, this time an Oria-tubed, TIG-welded machine badged as a Pinarello but rumored to have been made under contract by legendary Italian builder Dario Pegoretti.

The bike pictured is my 1993ish Pinarello Gavia

If it works for you great, but for others find value in a cycle specific jersey. For example, those who race, a quality cycle specific jersey is essential. For me as a commuter and working up to long distance rides I would not be without a cycle specific jersey, mostly because of the pockets, but also because they fit better on the bike and I have found that with my better jerseys, they manage sweat better and remain comfortable longer. For short rides to the store etc. a plain old wicking T-shirt is fine and I do wear in those circumstances.

That is great, but pretty non responsive. Since you ride a bent, a lot of the advantage of cycling jerseys doesn't apply to you. I have a bunch of wicking T shirts for the gym, but when I go for a ride, I like the convenience of back pockets to hold my stuff.

I have so many jerseys, it's hard to pick a favorite. But this one is high on the list. Me, my Mt. Dew, and my trusty Schwinn.

BTW, the 508 is this weekend. I won't be competing ... but I'll be crewing my bud Steve.

T-shirt are OK ... I wore T-shirts for years before I decided to try cycling jerseys. The first ones I bought were on sale at Performance for $20, and I still have and wear them. Of note:
  • T-shirts don't last that long.
  • They don't have pockets.
  • They can't be unzipped in the front.
  • They flap around.
  • Cotton, while comfortable dry, isn't terribly good when it's wet. Well, unless you're attending a wet t-shirt contest.
Conclusion: Even for a confirmed luddite like myself, jerseys rock.

I don't have any pictures but I like the plain "see me green" jerseys from performance. I also have a couple of Nuckily jerseys from Ebay. Cheap Chinese stuff but they work fine.

I want one of these but I don't think the wife will come through for me at Christmas this year.

I have some dry fit T-shirts that I ride in and they work fine for shorter rides when I don't need to carry anything in the pockets.

I recently bought this one, which I rather enjoy. I don't have any pictures of just me wearing the jersey, and I am reluctant to post pictures of other people on the internet without permission, so I give you, the Primal buzzed Jersey.

I like cycling jerseys for their fit, wicking and carrying ability, and I have a few. My problem is I have always had a thing about writing or designs on any form of clothing, and I have even been known to unpick designer labels off shirts and jumpers, so my jerseys are all pretty unadventurous, either in red or blue.

I don't have a problem with the bright jerseys I see around on others with logos and adverts, in fact they usually look good. It's just an illogical little hang-up I have with my own clothes.

I used to feel that way, and I have a drawerful of plain white, red, black, and blue jerseys. I think I was self conscious about getting labeled as a dork or a poser when I was out riding. But after all these years, I guess I don't care all that much anymore. Bike riding should be about having fun, and if wearing something fun or bright reflects my mood I see no harm.

Happy to pull her the last 14 miles.

Both were eBay finds, less than $20. From what I could find, Radere was a jersey manufacturer in Colorado; I love the design. And the Boeing gets lots of comments from fellow aero geeks.

I get that. I have quite a few jerseys (most bought a long time ago) that are one simple bright color, and that's it. Frankly, I think those jerseys are the safest of all, as I believe them to be the most visible. I still wear them when I think visibility will be an issue.

I got drawn into the jersey designs by custom jerseys that must be earned by completing a ride or a series of rides. Finish a really tough century or double century? Well, you must get the jersey.

From there it's a small step to buying jerseys just because you like the design.

She could tighten up a little on the chin strap, tho.

If I could only wear jerseys I'd earned I'd be riding bare-chested.

Well done to those who have earned them.

Hang on a minute - I think I've probably earned this one from my local brewery.
