It's been awhile !

Due to back and sciatica issues deciding to act up lately it took me off my mountain bike. When they do act up the TT bike is the main ride until I can get the pain under control. I've had the mountain bike in my bike riding rotation since the start of the year and was missing playing in the woods once a week. Finally got the pain back to normal so it was off to the woods we go. Cool crisp air and some new trails made for a great day.

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis (kinda like sciatica(??) and my spine doc (who is an avid cyclist) told me my road bikes were the best thing for the problem. Leaning over the handlebars stretches out the spine to relieve the pressure on the spinal cord. He was right.
He said to stay away from mtn bikes and hybrid (comfort) bikes.

Ah, I remember my single track days. The guys that I used to ride with said that if you weren't bleeding or didn't break something, you hadn't tried hard enough. I think that sometimes I must have tried a little bit too hard. My SON once chastised me for taking too much risk.

I'm glad to have had the experience but I'm not going back.
