Did you use the indoor trainer today?

Another hour on the trainer. Ugh. The Sufferfest is getting a bit boring, although I give them a lot of credit for getting me back in shape. I've never been stronger. Their training is top notch but it does start to get repetitive after 5 months. Another 5 days of cold weather here, but then it warms up into the mid 50s, which is fine for riding.

Wind trainer this morning
7' 93 rpm
5' one leg practice 85 rpm ~ 30 seconds each
6x1' standing 50 rpm 52/12
5' one leg practice 89 rpm ~ 30 seconds each
10' 97 rpm
My second OLP was faster, but felt extremely difficult, The cleats kept coming off
the pedals. I've ordered Sunlite straps to help keep them on. Standing felt much better today.

Spent 90 minutes on Zwift due to the predicted atmospheric river. Poked my head out of the garage and blue sky. D’oh!

since it is SNOWING again up here I had to go indoors and use the stationary bike. Rode for 90 minutes or so, takes almost an hour to drive my heart rate up, have to keep riding to get the heart to beat faster and as soon as I slow down it drops like a rock. I know it works harder outside than indoors.

80 on Friday, 75 yesterday, 40 today. Ugh. Maybe again on the trainer later, but maybe I'll go outside, after doing drywall in my house. Or after drywall comes beer? It's just a small job.

Does a Schwinn Airdyne qualify as an indoor trainer? If so, yes.

I tormented myself on the spin bike at the fitness center again this morning for a 2x20 with the goal of averaging the watts I calculated I need for a ride that will have ~2,800 feet of climbing in less than 8 miles. I'm a flatlander so this climb up the mountain should be interesting. Summit is ~4,400 feet. I'm at around 660 feet elevation where I live.

Intervals consisting of 10 minutes of light spinning at a normal cadence and 10 minutes of heavy mashing of the pedals at 45.5 rpm while standing, followed by 10 minutes of light spinning at a normal cadence.

Spring has been reluctant to get underway this year. This morning I noticed the beech tree outside my apartment, which has beer struggling to sprout leaves, has put on a burst of growth and now has a good beginning to the Spring season. Temps today about mid 50s F and tomorrow the same for the club ride. Rode a leisurely 12 miles around the local state park with plenty of other cyclists doing the same. A gorgeous couple of days so no trainer for the for months to come.

Finished the Tour of Watopia, probably about 100th place. I don't like the Pretzel.

I'm hooked on my Wahoo Kickr and Zwift. Started Zwifting this winter, almost to level 17, it's a great workout and I'm tempted to continue throughout the summer along with outdoor riding.
