I did the Neighbours ride on Friday- but I was let down- Finished up being 2x 5 year old girls- one of their dads and my riding partner, Streaked lightning in the form of a 12 year old lad. We took a 6 mile ride up a cycle track to a cafe. I had a full breakfast, the lad had a hamburger- and chips- and salad and a cake and a packet of biscuits and a bag of crisps. Just as we were finishing the two girls arrived and had a hamburger each but all Dad Wanted was a Coffee- He does not ride and was just a bit tired. Glad about that as I was paying.

Rest of the weekend was spent in trying to sort the garden after putting up the new bike shed. Pics attached and the after is the green shed. I can assure you that this new shed is worth it. At long last I can work all the way round the Tandem on its annual Service. Not much to change- Rear cassette- new drive chain- two new crossover sprockets-and new chain to go with it- new brake pads front and rear- and a new bottom bracket. Then there was the cleaning and that means a complete strip down to frame and clean and polish and strip everything as it goes back on. Bike must be 5lbs lighter now and it is surprising how far into things that mud gets. All I have to do is get in a couple of rides now to make certain that everything is bolted back on and adjusted correctly and I will be ready for some decent riding. Glad tomorrows a rest day as I am back at work but Gym tomorrow night aswell. Roll on christmas


EDit- Still along way to go on the shed as I still have the Electrisc to lay on, get the insulation and lining done- sort out the workbench and tool racks- So should have it done byyyy---- Bang goes the christmas break again.

You probably know this already, but you can switch the crossover sprockets (front to back, back to front) and double their life. If you can picture it, you'll be using entirely new surfaces by doing this. OHB

Great progress!! That seems like a really handy shed!!

Been there already two years ago. Got to the stage where I have a slack spot on the crossover chain, due to wear on the teeth, plus the fact that Teeth have more than 50% are a bit Spikey.
