help!
My neighbor, Skipper, can for some odd reason, no longer access the bike forums. He has tried many ways, back door, ip address etc. He has called his server who could offer no ideas and is getting a bit fustrated with it all. It is the only site he cannot access and he has also tried disabling all of his security set-ups. Anybody with any ideas let me know and I will pass them on. Thanks.

Hi Rck,
Can you give us a bit more info? What browser, browser version, OS, etc.? Also, what happens when he tries to access BFN? Is he getting a "Page not found" error?
IF he's using IE, he can try flushing his cache (deleting temporary offline content).
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools >Internet options
3. In the “Temporary Internet Files”
4. Click Delete Files
5. On the warning box tick the “Delete all offline content” and click OK
6. This may take some time (depending on hardware)
May be a DNS issue. Have him open a command prompt and type "ping www.bikeforums.net" and make sure it connects (and resolves to the correct IP, which is 69.16.211.185 as of this message).
Give us some more info, and I'm sure we can help him.
Steve

If a router is used, sometimes the domain names/ip addresses are cached there. If that was somehow corrupted or has old data, it will have trouble connecting.
Solution, reboot the router (unplug the router and plug it back in)
(this is unlikely, I assume all the likely causes as described above have been tried and failed)

A belated thanks for the suggestions. He is still working on it. He is using ie with windows xp. I suggested he might switch to mozilla or opera. He has run all the scans and he is planning on trying the router suggestion from thomson. He had this problem once before with another site and it eventually self-corrected. However, he uses the bikeforum a lot more, thus is making him a bit more pro-active.
