hey to all
hey to all, i am not new to this forum, but have been absent for a while. i am getting going again on my 1990 Schwinn Criss-Cross... great all around bike for the country.
pulled it out of the shed last week, and man did it need a serious clean-up. all is working good and i put 6 miles on it yesterday for the first time in years, and plan to do it again today... taking it one ride at a time till i can get back the legs.
anyways... just wanted to say hello and let you geezers know how much i have enjoyed reading the over 50 section of which i recently obtained membership (ha).

now that i'm old(er), i can pretty much afford any bike i want... but i'm still too practical to go plunk down $2k on a high tech bike. however the thought is still there and i've always wondered if a nicer bike would prompt me to ride more seriously?
i happen to know that a well built great sounding guitar (which normally means more $$$) will inspire the musician to play more... but is it the same... hmmm???

its not too bad here, the scenery is very good, lots of flat coastal small town riding... but it can get a little dangerous at times. narrow roads wiht oversized 4x4 trucks driven by low IQ rosey neck folks.
the criss-cross allows for fairly quick/stable shoulder exits, absorbs the rough stuff well... so its great for that.
