Rode my age today (and then some)
Started out to do at least thirty miles to best my longest ride (20 miles) in one shot since I got back in the saddle. Did my thirty feeling real good and decided to go for an age (51) ride. Made the ride fine and figured what the hay, might as well go for 62 miles. At 54.5 got nailed by one of our afternoon pop up thunderstorms and had to take cover under the eve of a house under construction. When the rain died down I headed back out and finished the ride at 65.2 miles.
Look out century, here I come.

Great Post! and way to go!!
I particularly like the way you didn't just call it a day, but rather just hung out at a construction sight until the weather cleared off.

A most excellent ride. I've only been biking since the last week of May. I'm a runner in recovery.
My longest run to date was Saturday at 47 miles. I felt great at the end but since I was in virgin territory, I wouldn't even guess how much farther I could have went.
Congratulations on a fine outing.
