Weight: Masi vs. Fuji

I recently posted about my girlfriend and I surprising each other with bicycles for birthday presents. She got me a Masi Gran Criterium S and I got her a Fuji Team Super Light. The other day at the bike shop we weighed both of them. I was amazed at how light these bikes are. My Masi weighed in at 16 lbs. (56 cm frame) w/o pedals. Her Fuji (52 cm frame) weighed 15 lbs. 9 oz w/ pedals. For comparison, my LeMond Arrivee TI (now sold) weighed 20 lbs. w/ pedals. The guy at the bike shop commented that the Masi and Fuji together weighed about what his Mtn. bike does.

That settles it- With bikes that light- it is 2 pieces of pie from now on for you two.

You may NOT notify my wife that there are bikes that weigh so little or she's going to get on some sleek slinky Masi or Fuji or whatever and zip off down the road cackling at me peddling my 35-lb MTB after her...
