Bummer - looks like bad weather this weekend

Thunderclaps are, at this moment, announcing that this weekend may be no good for riding. Bummer. I don't mind riding in the rain, but I will not go out in a thunderstorm, although I've been caught out in a few.

I really cannot complain. The weekends this summer have been beautiful.

July over here was hot but forget August. A fair amount of rain and not too warm. It is a bank holiday here this weekend and today is the first day of our long weekend. Just hope it brightens up for tomorrow as Monday's forecast is not that bright either.

Still, what am I bothering about. The hills are beckoning and whats 5 miles of slippery chalk followed by 3" puddles interspaced with mud and Gunge. then a few miles through the woods followed by a breakfast........Then the long trackout of the forest and a cut across the top of the hills before I have to do the wooded path back home at the bottom of the Hills.

Things I go through to get out of washing the Car on a sunday.

If I didn't ride in the rain, I'd NEVER ride here in Louisiana! Embrace the hydrologic cycle!

I agree about the thunderstorms. Don't need to temp fate that much. It's been damp and misty all day near Philadelphia, but I was able to get in about 25 miles early this morning. Hoping I can do the same tomorrow, before I leave for a three day business trip.

Well, although misty here in Bucks County (north of Philly), I left early and was fortunate to get in 65 miles. Came back and crashed on the couch - awakened to news reports about violent wind storms, fallen trees, roofs blown off houses, etc. I'm not certain what planet I was on, but I missed it all - better, still, it missed me!

Heavy overcast and high humidity on Saturday in Berks County, PA (50m west of PHL). I did get in 20 miles. Sunday I awake late to light rain. Not actually planning to ride today or Monday. Rain in forcast for Monday/Tuesday. I expect the storm Ernesto will wash out next weekend. Been caught in rain a couple times, not actually that bad being rained on, I have more fear of losing grip with the 23m, no tread tyres. The good news is the cooler temps.
