Intro

Hello, this is an interesting site and thought I'd drop in for a visit.
I'm 62 and have biked the better part of my life, using them for transportation & fun ( bike polo) and to deliver the newspaper.
Not the high tech type equipment until this last bike ( 15 year old Schwinn Voyager with Columbus Tubing ) bought new for touring. I've been riding the MS 150 for the last five years and completed a century in two of those years ( this year being one of them).
I take a multi vi. and yes I have "slowed" down, I can see by my training logs from years past. I have always worked out, using Soloflex, free weights, Nordic Track, exercise bike, tredmill. Have always been fit, so I had nowhere to go but down. Was a runner until my knees said otherwise and I don't have knee problems riding the bike.
I mainly ride for fun and start pushing in July of each year to get ready for the MS ride.
I would guess my mileage at about 1000 miles a year and the only time I ride in bad weather is for the MS150. Three out of the five years there has been rain, other than that, I'm a fair weather rider.
I've also started doing my own mechanic work, but will be upgrading the drive train at the shop next month. Keeping the frame for the comfort, but want to lighten up the rest of the bike. Wheels were changed this year, other upgrades done over the last 5 years.
Regards,

Welcome aboard. As you may already know, there is a wide range of thought and opinion on this fourm. One of the nice things about this particular forum is that, for the most part, participants have reached a level of maturity allowing them to interact with each other in civil and frequently helpful ways. You'll also find a fair amount of kidding and playfulness.... some of which can seem odd. If you have questions about what seems odd or perhaps "insider" jokes, just ask. Hope you enjoy your participation, and from my end, looking forward to it.
