b-day ride
As I waaas at work yesterday, my bithday, I had to delay my ride until today. As I spent most of yesterday eating pie, rice krispie bars, and cookies, I definitely needed the ride. Woke up to cool and overcast weather but warmed up with oatmel and thoughts of Irma's. Skipper overslept(not as young as he used to be I guess) but we got underway at 9am. Took it quite leisurely for a change but enjoyed the ride as usual. Todays pie was apple caramel crunch and yes I licked the plate. Jumped back on the bikes and headed home being chased by only one dog. Got close to home when it started to mist a bit but what can you do? Meanwhile, I casually mentioned that I was now 56 and we only had 42 miles on board. So with only a quick stop to change into warm clothes we went out knocked aff another 23 miles figuring that a metric century plus worked out pretty well. The best part after Irma's was that it only rained for the last 20 miles of the trip. I'm heading over to Skipper's now in the hopes that his wife has made some elderberry pie. If your going to sin-sin big!
