Last Sunday's ride - Resuming from 9 mi west of Galena, IL to Apple River Canyon SP
It was just 17 miles on a Sunday afternoon, but the scenery was spectacular. We stopped every mile to enjoy the view or take a photo. Here is my favorite shot. Looking back down that long winding road, you can see a prominent hill in the far distance. We rode over that one on our last trip.
It was a cold and windy ride tho. The temp was 35F at start, and somewhat colder at the end. Wind was NW at 25 m/h, gusting to 35 m/h. It was great heading west, but the northerly sections were a bear ... And there was one killer section ... a mile of gravel, up hill, and against the wind.
I can't provide a web address with more photos until a problem gets cleaned up on my server. Will post that later.

Love the picture. I can see why it is a favorite spot.
