You've got a good eye. That's the sign that doesn't mean back and forth but 74 miles of UP DOWN UP DOWN UP DOWN - MAMA!

And when they say "No Services" - they mean NO SERVICES - of any kind, period. And this is going across the Utah desert starting at Green River.

I know, I've been out there in a truck. Crossing that by bike, I'd carry a 5 gal container in the bike trailer, I guess.

And, there are not what one might call "alternative routes," either! Salina is the next town, 100 miles down the road.

That's brutal all right. Of course, the salt flats are something else too. I actually went to high school in Wendover Utah. It’s hot, flat, and nothing grows there. I wonder if anyone has done the salt flats ride in the summer. You could do it with support.
