Every one in the UK is crippled with snow. Except for us on the South East Coast in Sussex. We have absolutely nothing.NBot even a frost this morning, but 10 miles inland there is the highest point in East Sussex and it looks like the town was cut off this morning.

Couple of pics taken last year when I did get up on the hills but not for long. Just after I took the pics- I broke the chain and had to freewheel down the hill to a cafe to get recovered.

Edit- Just looked on a local weather site and schools are closed only 5 miles up the road.

To quote from the above BBC report:

"Gritters have been out and drivers told not to travel unless it is essential."

I think I'd be "gritting" also. Brrr!

Wheres the Lowlands? Temp this morning was in the 50's and the only snow I saw was on the cars coming from Upcountry=======About 4 miles away.

England gets crippled By any extreme of the weather- Bit of frost- Cars won't start. Bit of snow roads get impassable- Bit of rain and the roads get flooded. Or at least thats the excuse my co-workers give when they get in an hour late at work from 5 miles away. I travel 30 miles and always get in 30 minutes early.

Lord help us when the temp gets into the 70's and the roads start melting

This, according to Google, is a gritter. Reckon it's a snowplow.

Gritters...?......why those are people south of the Mason-Dixon line who manufacture grits.

Lorries (trucks) which spread salt and grit (very small, crushed stones) on the roads. Much like a large fertilizer spreader.
