82 Degrees Today

My gloves actually felt too warm. I didn't have to remember to hydrate. The park was full of people (including lots of pretty girls).

It was a glorious day to ride -- a reminder that summer lies around the corner.

SoCal wimps! Up here in Michigan we feel that way when it gets over 40 at this time of year. 50 degrees and we start hitting the beaches. I musta seen 100 bikers and joggers on Saturday alone.

That bit of sun on Sunday bought all the Summer riders out- We noticed them on all their shiny clean bikes without many scratches on, but with all the latest bar ends and new tyres fitted as we passed them going up the hills. Didn't see 100 on the hills but I was beginning to think that we were the only people in out area still riding over the cold windy spell we have had since December.

It is 52 degrees here today and it is wonderful. Just got back from taking my lunch bike out for a quick ride. I first cleaned it up and lubricated everything. It had been sitting out in the snow for weeks.

I think today is the first time it has broken 50 here since early in November. But we did have some nice upper 40s days in late December. 59 is predicted tomorrow.

Now, now boys. We wouldn't want to have to send the two of you off to detention.

I saw a number of riders [all dressed a little too warm] as I commuted home this evening. It was about 58F.
This time of year we have wide temperature swings. At the start of this mornings commute it was 24F but was closer to 40F 90 minutes later.

There was a 20 degree swing during my Sunday ride, from 50 F to 70 F. Tomorrow's forecast is a high of 82F. I can finally leave the arm and knee warmers at home.
