At age 50 I finally conceded my arms were to short and that there was a reason I could not read the street signs at night. Got bifocal progressives and transition light weight. Amazing how that works.

I am 61 and have used reading glasses for the last 10 years but have so far escaped the need for distance glasses. I can still read the road signs and street addresses clearly but I am sure it’s just a matter of time.

I bought a pair of progressive lenses after years of using lined bifocals, but when it came time for a new pair I couldn't stand the price and bought another set of lined bifocals. What a mistake!

Progressive bifocals are the only way to go.

21. My mom cried when I came home from college wearing wire-rimmed glasses, sporting my first (scraggly) goatee and wearing cowboy boots.

Brought back a memory.
I didn't need glasses until 35.
But, back in my day in grade school, the school did the vision screening and actually provided glasses based on the results. My best friend was sitting next to me, put his glasses on for the first time, and started sobbing at what the chalk board (remember chalk?) was SUPPOSED to look like. We were 9 years old.

Been wearing them since I was 3 years old. I'm 56 now. Don't like glasses, but I've been told that I"m not a candidate for Lasik. Sure would like to ditch the glasses, though.
