Today's ride w/PICS - Seminole Park, FL

- as promised, this is the third in a series of posts to show pics of local rides... this 5-mile loop ride is special to me and almost essential during the blistering heat and humidity of summer as it offers shade, water, and water-cooled breezes - a very pleasant way to spend a morning...

- i generally get to this ride via a frenetic 4-mile dash through extremely high-speed (50mph+) urban traffic; no way would i consider riding on the main route (Park Blvd.), although i do ride auxiliary roads with little fear if the right lane is wider than normal... sidewalks are nearly everywhere in the county...

- there are a number of water impoundments off each corner:

- cheesy but fun additions abound for peds:

- water from the Gulf of Mexico feeds through to create brackish impoundments:

- every lane is bounded by trees:

- looping around:

- and again:

- cutoffs from the main road lead to other short loops:

- lots of shade:

- and finally, to yet another water's edge (one of five in this ride):

- here's a new friend (hanging around with mouth open):

- but alas, never, ever go swimming!:

Great pics! It is always interesting seeing the scenery that others get to enjoy-especially when it is different from what we're accustomed to seeing everyday.

Looks wonderful, you guys having any problems from the fires up there? We had a lot of smoke again yesterday, sure makes the recovery slower, today looks better though.

- couldn't even go outside because the smoke was so bad day before yesterday... weather pattern was *concentrating* the smoke, funneling it directly over our county!

- today looks OK, but tomorrow's forecast includes - you guessed it - more smoke!

Well, lets hope for some rain. I am looking out the window right now and it looks like LA, brown layer of air. Minor changes in wind direction seem to have a big effect and with the storm hanging off the coast the winds have been pretty strong.
