Some interesting stats...

Looking at my mileage this year, and comparing to last year:

January '06 I had my best month so far: 25 rides, 310 miles

February '07 my worst month with my knee injury: 4 rides, 33 miles

Because of the knee injury, my production this year is way down. I rode 171 fewer miles in January than the year before, 119 less in February, 29 less in March, and 13 less in April. With 8 days to go, I need only 17 miles to catch last year's May. I'll get that tomorrow. I hope to exceed last year's monthly totals from here on out.

Last year I rode an average of 15.5 rides per month. This year, so far, 13.6 rides per month. Again, the knee injury accounts for most of the lower numbers. Since getting the new bike on the 5th of May, I've had 16 rides for 221 miles already.

I know my mileage will go up this summer from last year. I'd still like to reach my goal for the year of 2,400, even though I'm way behind. I've only got 733 so far. Darn that knee!

Do you SUM the A4 cell with B7 or do you just average Column C and multiply by D18

That depends on the lunar cycle.

I know about the lunar rover, but I had never heard of the lunar cycle. Did that go with golf clubs or giant steps.

Yeah, but how are you doing against lefthanders during night roadgames when you play on astroturf? And how do your numbers compare with the period when you weren't injecting testosterone?

Seriously, DG, I'm impressed that you are keeping your stats. That means I have to start keeping them too or concede a "statistics" gap. Did you buy a program or just use an Excel spread sheet?

Use a Garmin. Download to MotionBased. Pay for a "membership". It'll keep track of your stats forever.

I've had the new bike for 9 days. Got over 100 miles on it. 40 in the last two days. I haven't calculated the climbing yet, but it would only take me a few minutes to do that.

I keep the records at bikeournal.com, and then do an Excel spreadsheet to figure stuff out. Keeps me out of trouble!

+1 for bikejournal.com! Here's my profile and ride log.

On the ride log, you get to choose the things you track. You don't have to track the same things I do, and there are many things that I don't track.

Really- Didn't even realise you had got a new bike. Must be that you haven't posted pics of it yet.
