They look great. I just finished a pie with rhubarb & strawberries, both from my garden. Life is good.

The rhubarb came straight from my garden to the pies. There is nothing better other than perhaps a fresh wild blueberry pie.

They would be very enticing, if I did not have my own fresh cut rhubarb pie out in my kitchen.

The dad-blamed thing has halted my weight loss program dead in its tracks.

WillisB...this is great! 'Cuz my wife just landed in Atlanta after spending a week with her parents in Rochester, NY. In her luggage she has a big bag of Rhubarb and "real" Italian bread. Neither of which is available here in GA.

I feel a pie coming on!

Those are nice looking pies, you're a good crustacean. Did you use a table fork around the rim?

Pre-made Pillsbury crusts, fork around the rim, and, best of all, enough left to make crusties!

I also use an aluminium ring to keep the edges from burning. I take it off during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Those pre-made crusts are good. Aluminum foil to keep the edges from burning is one of the things I learned from my Grandma Dot, who was a caterer and, with all due respect, the best pie maker in the whole wide world. Due to her influence, I am more of a lattice crust man myself, to this very day. But your top crust pies tempt me to make one soon with a full crust. They really are very nice looking state fair grade pies.

The Rhubarb in Rochester is near it's peak right now. Just cut the flowers off the one's at Ma's house this weekend. Some nice bright red Rhubarb in there right now. Great with a few strawberries thrown in. My Son is even making pies with it now.

Strawberries and rhubarb mixed are a waste of good rhubarb and a waste of good strawberries imo. I much prefer to have one or the other, not both. Different strokes though.

Oh gosh...That's NORTH Chili...The other side of the track! LOL!
I am in Chili Center over near the McDonalds. Some of my free time is spent at a Bike Shop on St Paul. Working one night a week and on Saturdays. Nothing like re-newing my skill set.

Very nice.

The best pie is that which is made from the best fruit that is in season; preferably ripe and locally grown, but it has to be good fruit.
