My wife's new Rivendell
Hi,
finally got some pics taken of her new bike. Sorry that they
aren't very good.
https://photos.walmart.com/shareethum...=SYE/otsi=SALB
The first pic is my birthday dinner
Her bike is an interesting mix of this and that. The rack came off an 80's bike.
I used it because it was light. The bike with the rack weighs 25 pounds.
Saddle is Brooks Finesse, the hubs and chain are XTR, the shifters and front der are Ultegra, the rear der and cassette are XT, the tires are Cypres at 50psi or a little less

Really nice bike, a lot of people are down on 650b. I have to say I love it.

That is one sweet-looking ride. Beautiful paint job. I see that she has brake levers on the crossbar, not just out on the hoods. I think that's a nice way to go with drops. She ought to love this bike!

Hwy 40,
she does love it. It's faster, lighter, and smoother riding than
her old bike.
George,
thanks for the kind words.
Yen,
it took years to find a frame that would work for her that
she liked the looks of. I had begun to think it was impossible...

Which model is it? Is it custom? Agree the color is lovely and looks nicely set up for a very comfy ride.

Very nice! Classy too! My Bridgestone is a light blue and I've always liked it.
Thanks for posting the weight, I was wondering what a config like this weighed.
I too like the 650b wheel size.

Hi guys,
it weighs 25 pounds. It's a Bleriot which is a production frame made in taiwan.
I got the frame for about $600 from Spicer Cycles; not cheap but nowhere near as expensive as some of the other Rivendells.
Keeping the weight down took some work. While it's a Brooks, the rails are Ti.
I picked XTR hubs largely to keep the weight down. They were NOS and don't match in color. The bottom bracket is Ultegra, which weighs a little less. The cranks are 105, I got a great deal on them. The front brake is a Pauls which is fairly light, the rear brake is a piece of junk. next year I'll replace it with a Pauls.
She has the Shimano dual pedals, if I can get her to go full clipless that would save a half pound right there.
If you went with typical parts and a $25 rack the bike would be 26 pounds, maybe 27 with a Brooks. But if you rode one I doubt you'd care.

That is just lovely! I bet she's thrilled with it! It looks beautiful. The Bleriot seems to be a favorite amongst the riv fans...

Gene's a pretty nice guy to work with isn't he. I bought my Brooks from him, and I just order a setback seatpost, great prices. Thanks for the weight of the bike.
