Did my 50+ Birthday Ride Today!

- and who provided me inspiration? why, my 70-year-old riding buddy, who just recovered from a separated shoulder and cracked rib in a bike crash a month ago...

- he still kicks my butt on the road!

- but we did it in good time (4 hours in the saddle w/a gatorade and PBJ break or two)...

- i'd hate to do my birthday ride solo!

:-)

Happy Birthday!

I agree those birthday rides are much easier when it's done with friends

I"ve never done a birthday ride with a friend. Wonder what that's like. In fact, I sometimes wonder what having friends is like, but that's another story.

Happy B-day!

With enemies like you have, who needs friends???

Oops, didn't mean to hijack a neat thread, linux_author, congrats and keep at it. Next year, you and your friend can do it in 3 hours and the year after that....well, you get the idea. Great accomplishment. You get your choice: beer or pie.

Good going, but we have to stop somewhere. Do you think 70 should be the cut off ?

Well done, linux_author, and Happy Birthday!

As I understand the rules, breaks for gatorade and PBJ are officially sanctioned aspects of an official birthday ride.

Have you recovered from the "recovery" food yet
