Poll: what kind of climbing do you prefer?

I think I'm the only one who has not posted a poll on this site, so just out of curiousity, describe your climbing style. Do take your time.

The question is, do you take it on all at once and get it over with, or do you prefer to drag things out?

mtnbk3000 06-28-07 04:44 PM

what happened to the poll?

cyclezealot 06-28-07 04:51 PM

how about a 7% average climb , but over 2000 foot climb . And both out of saddle and sit and spin.

maddmaxx 06-28-07 04:54 PM

How bout taking the climb in the opposit direction.

Digital Gee 06-28-07 05:15 PM

You left out an option: Vote to take the hills off the island.

Ride a taxi to the top and coast down.

George 06-28-07 05:17 PM

We ain't got no hills!

zonatandem 06-28-07 05:19 PM

300 ft is a climb????

doctor j 06-28-07 05:24 PM

I usually sit and spin, but of late, I'm getting up off the saddle for at least part of the hill.

Nope, I guess I'm the last one standing, no polls. On the other hand, my wife is half Polish, does that count?

jibi 06-28-07 05:32 PM

There were not enough choices.

so I didn't vote

but I am glad you have lost your cherry

Tom Bombadil 06-28-07 05:52 PM

I vote for a 1% grade over a 6 mile stretch.

Digital Gee 06-28-07 05:54 PM

I thought you had to live in Colorado to make a poll.

Too far, I use the one that goes over the interstate. I- 10

Terrierman 06-28-07 07:09 PM

I prefer a -5% grade, about three miles, slightly winding with a good quality road surface and no traffic, thank you berry much.

Louis 06-28-07 07:19 PM

I voted for 5% because the 5 and the % are on the same key.:p

But seriously, a long steady climb where I can gear down, spin, and be alone with my thoughts while remaining aerobic is actually enjoyable for me.

bcoppola 06-28-07 08:29 PM

You didn't list "social".

You should have taken a poll about who has taken polls.

I still need to learn to stand to climb. Makes me feel klutzy
but it is another skill I need.

Yen 06-28-07 08:46 PM

It's hard to know since I'm a bad estimator of grade..... :o

SaiKaiTai 06-28-07 10:33 PM

OK, I figure -since I'm currently doing a 500' climb of 11% out of the saddle now- I'll vote 10% & out of the saddle.
