Yeah, that's it. The hardware is okay, the software is okay, it must be a problem in the liveware.

That's the problem with point and shoot. They do not come with auto pointers.

Ii think you need Shimano 9 speed Megapixels. Trying to use the 10 speeed model won't work with your setup, as you found out.

You are from Oregon, right?
OK -- pretty good so far. Now, slowly rotate the camera away from you and look at the window on the backside that looks like a little "TV" when you move the camera. When you see something you like in the window, push the little button down on the top and hold it!

Oh, and please don't try this while you are riding until you have a bit more "experience" under your belt!
