1000 Miles on My New Bike
I hit 1015 miles on my Trek Pilot 1.2 that I bought in the second week of July 2006. That means I rode 1015 miles in 51 weeks. A lot of local club rides, a lot of local rides alone, some nice sightseeing (on my own) in southern Maine, a two day charity ride last summer (Brattleboro VT to Boston), a one day charity ride on Long Island this summer, and about 100 miles of using the bike as transportation to places more than 10 miles away from home.
AND, that doesn't include the 300+ miles during that same period that I put on my old Specialized Sirrus that I converted into a "cruiser" bike when I bought the Pilot.
I think I'm beginning to enjoy this bicycling stuff.

I recently passed the same milestone on my new bike. Like you, I'm really enjoying the new bike.

Your Pilot now has more miles on it than the average bike sold in the USA will ever have (800 miles). So each mile you rack up from now on, will make you more and more above average.

Congradulations, and now you can start getting ready for that century. I know that bike will be comfortable for any distance, thanks for the update.
