Road My Age For 5 Days
Just completed the LMB MUP tour, fun ride, great weather (one day of rain) and really nice fellow riders. Lots of us old geezers on the tour, and some rode really fast. Oldest was 80 but I don't think he rode every day, (heck when I'm 80 I hope I can still get my leg over a bike or breath). Aprox. 25% of the bikes were recumbents. Looked like a comfotable ride. Good times!!

What is the LMB (sorry that I am so uninformed) and how far did you ride? Next...where are the pictures

LMB = Leauge of Michigan Bicyclists
Distance rode a little over 300 miles.
Highlights: The people, both fellow riders and population, and the scenery, the UP in Michigan is senic and wild. Wildlife (saw a wolf and a moose see below)
Lowlights: Cracked a couple of ribs on the first day (don't ever ride on Mackinaw Island on a weekend), Almost attacked by a moose protecting her dead (road kill) calf, I didn't see the dead calf. I really don't care if I ever see a Moose that close again.
Pie: Somewhat lacking, but made up for the local dish called a "Pastie" (we call it a Cornish pastery), had some real athentic "Pasties" with a lot of the "Rutabaggy"
Lessons Learned: You can ride with bad ribs, it really doesn't hurt that much, (you can't stand to ride up a hill),enough Ibiprofin helps. What you can not do, is sleep on the ground. Don't play with Moose.
Great tour will go again.

WOW, thats pretty impressive! How did you crack the ribs though? Did the moose come after you? Glad you made it through with the ribs and all. Great accomplishment
